best websites to find free images for your blog

If you read our post a few weeks ago, you know that pictures will increase customer engagement. But you’re probably wondering where you can get the best photos. The best option is to hire a photographer and models, get props and everything that goes along with professional photoshoots.

As you can imagine, a professional photoshoot gets really expensive, really fast. The good news is that small businesses don’t need to spend money to get good photos for the blog. If you don’t know where to find great free images, you’re not alone.

Recently I was with a group of professionals when one asked where everyone else got their blog photos. Surprisingly, there weren’t a lot of good answers. So if you haven’t found your favorite places for free images don’t worry, you’re in good company.

Sometimes I will go through 15+ sites to find the photo I need for a blog post or website design. But most of the time, I am able to find something in the first few websites I go to.

To compromise, I’m going to show you my 8 favorite spots to find free images. This isn’t quite as big of a deal as sharing my favorite swimming hole, or hidden rock climbing spot, but it’s still big 😉

Sites For Free Images

  1. STOCK UP
  2. Pixabay
  3. morgueFile
  4. PhotoPin
  5. Pexels
  6. FindA.Photo
  7. Pic Jumbo
  8. I’m Creator

These sites are pretty good at serving up free images that you can do anything you want with, but it’s still important to check the license. Some photos you will be able to use but need to attribute it to the photographer, others you use, but you can’t make any changes to. Check the license to make sure it fits the way you need to use the photo.

This is definitely my go-to list, but I left Google image search off because I assume most of you know about it. If you aren’t using Google to find free images, you should be. It is the first place I go to. You can sort photos by the license type, and even if you don’t find one you can use it will give you a good idea of what other people have used for your topic.
