Achieving work-and-life balance is easier said than done. But trying out these techniques to prioritize important and urgent tasks, setting your your work hours and sticking to them, and to enjoy a guilt-free vacation as a reward to your hardworking self is a great start.

How to Write Great Blog Post Titles

A catchy blog title can compel the readers to decide whether to click the link or not. Making the reader ask himself, “what’s in it for me?” is one effective way to lure them in. Knowing some tips and tricks that could make them do the next crucial step could take some time to master, but you will learn to hone your writing craft along the way for sure.

Why Your Blog Post Title Matters So Much

Your title appears in search engine results. Apart from that small description (your meta description), people don’t have much to go on when deciding whether to click your link instead of the one above/below it.
Your title appears in RSS feeds. Depending on how you set up your RSS feed, readers may only see the title and the opening lines of your post when deciding whether to click through and read the whole thing.
Your title appears in links. When bloggers link to your post on their own blogs or social media, they often just copy and paste your title and then add the link. And their readers will decide whether to read your post based on that title.

Rather than give you yet another formula, I’m going to share ten things I try to do when I’m writing blog post titles.

#1: Communicate a Benefit
With each title, I try to communicate a benefit or make some kind of promise about what the post will deliver. I want readers to know just from the title how they’ll benefit from clicking the link and reading the post.

#2: Think About Keywords and Search Engine Traffic
Every time I write a title I ask, “What would someone type into Google to look for this information?”

#3: Evoke Readers’ Curiosity
You shouldn’t give away all the answers in the title. But you shouldn’t tease or manipulate people either.

Get Your Priorities Straight: How to Prioritize to Optimize Your Marketing Workflow

It is so easy to get overwhelmed when you are being drowned with all the work that seems to be equally urgent and important. Handling your marketing business with these techniques is essential to achieve efficiency and quality output. Not only will your team benefit from this but your satisfied clients as well.

Tip #1 – Address the elephant in the room.

What’s important is that you define the levels, they have clear differences, and have the stamp of approval from the whole team. Otherwise, you’ll find yourself in the same situation of “everything is important” and “everything is urgent,” which is no good for anyone.

Tip #2 – Define responsibilities.

> Let them know who is accountable for each step in the process.
> Set expectations for when the step needs to be completed.
> Show them how it impacts others when those expectations are missed.

Tip #3 – Assess your task list and prioritize daily.

Whether you’re managing your individual priorities or priorities for a whole team, work is in constant flux.  Considering all of the unexpected things that can happen in a work day, it’s important that you assess tasks and re-prioritize on a daily basis.

How to Stop Procrastinating (14 Easy Ways)

One of the deadly enemies that prevents you from completing your blog or may it be anything important in your marketing business is putting your work in the backseat — letting you face the consequences much to your dismay. We know there are days that your mind drifts somewhere far away, but taking in these tips one day at a time could make you catch your momentum again and really get the work done!

Procrastinating

#1.) Clean up your workspace!

..Clean up your desk. Only keep the bare essentials – everything else can go on shelves, in drawers, or wherever they belong. Out of sight, out of mind!

#2.) Total Silence (use earplugs)
The quickest way to create some focus and get your work done is to just “shut off” all the noise around you with a pair of earplugs.
The quieter it is, the less you’ll find distractions to pull you away from your work.

#3.) Work at a cafe
There’s something about the idea that other people might be able to see your screen that’ll keep you working – not goofing off on Facebook or YouTube.
You can get that sort of positive peer pressure at an office or coworking space……or just go to a cafe. There’s even research that shows there’s a level of ambient noise that actually promotes creativity.

Take An Unplugged Vacation Every Time With These Tips

How many times have you been miles away from your computer but everything work-related is still running through your mind? You may even feel guilty at times when leaving your tasks and work behind with your team mates. But clearing your mind, going unplugged and taking time off is of great importance — but making sure that all is settled before getting your travel bags is equally significant too.

When anyone takes time off, you can’t expect them to have all of their tasks and duties wrapped up with a tidy little bow before they leave.
As much as I would personally like to make that happen, it’s just not how it works.
Business doesn’t stop, the world doesn’t stop turning, and your team is running things one less person.
So be kind and anticipate any needs that may arise while you are out.
If you can front-load any of your work before leaving, do so.
